GUWAHATI, March 12 � The State government today told the Assembly that it does not have any information of the break-up of population of Bodo and non-Bodo communities in the Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD).
The government is also not aware of the number of villages where non-Bodo population are above 50 per cent of the total village population.
Replying to a written question from Ali Hussain (AIUDF), Minister for Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes Bismita Gogoi said that the total population of BTAD as per Census 2011 was 31,51,047 and that the government had no data concerning the Bodo and non-Bodo population break-up, as the census did not have such figures.
