No further NLCPR fund for BTAD

NEW DELHI, Aug 9 � The Centre has ruled out the possibility of earmarking separate Central fund under Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) for BTAD from the next financial year.

In a Lok Sabha reply, Minister DoNER, Paban Singh Ghatowar said that there is no proposal to earmark Rs 500 crore annually for BTAD under NLCPR.

According to the Memorandum of Settlement signed with Bodo Liberation Tigers in 2003, the Government had agreed to provide Rs 100 crore annually for five years for socio-economic development of BTC areas. The Prime Minister in August 2008 had announced an additional BTC package for Rs 250 crore.
