NEW DELHI, May 13 � The Centre today claimed there is no encroachment on border areas by the neighbouring countries along the Indo-Bangladesh, Indo-Myanmar and Indo-Bhutan borders.
However, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said that in case of the Indo-Bangladesh border, there are pockets that have traditionally been under possession of people of one country in the territory of another county. These pockets are known as �adverse possessions�.
As regards the Indo-China border, there is no commonly delineated Line of Actual Control (LAC). From time to time, on account of differences in the perception of the LAC, situations have arisen on the ground that could have been avoided had there been a common perception of the LAC, Rijiju said in a Rajya Sabha reply.
