TURA, March 29 - Dr Mukul Sangma, the Congress candidate for the Tura Lok Sabha seat, today stated that there was no other alternative to the Congress in the country and sought the bringing back of the party at the Centre.

The former CM was campaigning in Rangsakona and Gandhipara areas of South West Garo Hills.

Campaigning for the upcoming April 11 elections to the Lok Sabha for the Tura seat has scaled up with both the Congress and NPP undertaking multiple shows to garner voters to their sides.

People of the country have suffered immensely since the coming of the Modi Government five years back. They have been oppressed while laws were framed that went against the interest of the people. Had it not been for the Congress, the BJP Government would have forced upon us certain rules and laws that went against the people, said Dr Sangma during his rally at Rangsakona today.

South West Garo Hills is seen as the bastion of the Congress with Ampati being Dr Sangmas home constituency.

He claimed that the people were now looking to the Congress after their awareness of the difficulties they faced under the BJP-led NDA Government.
