NNPGs want Ravi to remain Naga talks interlocutor

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Aug 7 - The working committee of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has said that Nagaland Governor RN Ravi, who is also the Centres interlocutor for the Indo-Naga political dialogue, has exhibited serious concern and commitment by giving a practical touch to the Naga issue.

The present interlocutors commitment, depth and understanding of the issue are second to none, the media cell of the committee said in a release. To suggest a new interlocutor at this time is to rewind the Indo-Naga issue back to zero, it said.

The NNPG statement follows a letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 29 by Naga Hoho president HK Zhimomi and general secretary K Elu Ndang, which stated that the Nagas have observed that Ravi is functioning in an autocratic manner without any regard and respect for what has been achieved so far.

On the contrary, the working committee of the NNPGs maintained that the Indo-Naga conflict has taken a pragmatic and pro-active turn towards finding an acceptable and honourable political solution with Ravi as the interlocutor. It lashed out at Naga Hoho by asking it to restructure and revamp itself to remain relevant.
