NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Feb 15 - The Marwari Yuva Manch (MYM) today organised a protest against Thursday�s terror strike by Pakistan-backed terrorists in Kashmir�s Pulwama district.
The MYM members congregated at the main traffic intersection of North Lakhimpur town and paid floral tributes in memory of the security personnel martyred in the attack.
The agitators also burnt the Pakistani flag at the protest site and denounced the terror outfit for the dastardly act.
Similar protest programmes were also organised by Jana Seva, an NGO in North Lakhimpur today.
Meanwhile, members of Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad , Asom protested against 5:8 clause of the Assam Accord (1985) by burning a copy of the document.
The Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad�s Lakhimpur district unit burnt a copy of the Assam Accord with the clause under reference and termed it as detrimental for the identification of illegal immigrants in Assam.
The organisation also opposed the 1971 base year mentioned in the accord for detecting illegal immigrants and demanded the year 1951 as the cut-off year for the same.
