Nizamuddin returnees traced by Karmganj administration

NILAMBAZAR, April 12 - All the returnees from Nizamuddin Markaz, Delhi, have already been traced by the Karimganj district administration. Deputy Commissioner, Ambumuthan MP, informed that of the 29 Markaz attendees, 13 have returned to their homes so far and 16 are still in New Delhi.

�Although the results of the 13 persons were found to be negative, they have been kept under quarantine at different hospitals of Karimganj by the administration. Except Jamal Uddin of village Hasanpur, who was the first positive case in Assam, no fresh case has been received by the administration so far,� he added.

A senior official of the district administration informed that the administration has taken all necessary steps to identify the infected people.

So far, 2,323 persons in Karimganj district have been put under home quarantine and 49 persons have been kept in the isolation wards at different hospitals. Earlier, around 26 persons were released from quarantine after 14 days of medical observation. The Karimganj district administration has set up a COVID-19 treatment centre at Karimganj Civil Hospital. The Patherkandi Model Hospital, Girishganj Model Hospital and Kachuadham Hospital have also been converted into quarantine centres.
