NITI Aayog meet held at Dhubri

DHUBRI, June 24 - To discuss various parameters of development, a day-long session was organised by the members of Piramal Foundation and NITI Aayog in the presence of government dignitaries from various departments where different indicators of NITI Aayog were discussed with an aim to �Transform Dhubri�.

The representatives of the National Institution for Transforming India, also called NITI Aayog, said that performance of all the indicators of the Aayog in the district was low. The district is not performing at par when it comes to health and nutrition, education, agriculture etc.

It was also discussed that the condition of the education system was very dismal, with 2,713 schools and 9,491 teachers who had to impart lessons to 3,22,230 students. With just 33.62% score, the educational scenario of the district is much below the State and national average.

Puravi Kowahar of DDC and Inspector of Schools Saju Kumar Jadav inaugurated the session along with other officials from the Education Department, besides those representing various sectors were also present in the session which was held in the Zilla Parishad office of Dhubri.

Tanima Narayan and Sadasiva Reddy from NITI Aayog presented a PPT before them focusing on the educational development of the district. An action plan was also prepared by the team for the purpose of educational development, where the dignitaries along with members of NITI Aayog decided to launch a campaign in the name of Jan Andolan in the district. It was informed that this campaign will be focusing on various indicators of NITI Aayog with special stress on student learning outcomes.
