Niti Aayog launches roadmap to transform Dhubri schools

By CORRESPONDENT

DHUBRI, Aug 24 - With a view to develop the educational scenario of the district as per national standards, the Niti Aayog in collaboration with Piramal Foundation recently launched School Transformation Roadmap with the support of the district administration and the Education Department.

In a recent study by the National Institution for Transforming India (Niti) Aayog in Dhubri district, it was found that 30% students of the district are not performing well when it comes to education, and that the learning outcome of the students is only 15%. To curb these deteriorating standards of education in the district, the Aayog has launched the road map, informs Tanima Narayan, Niti Ayog member. She also informed that the roadmap includes all the Lower Primary and Upper Primary schools of Aagomoni, Chapar, Gauripur, Bilasipara and Golakganj blocks. The roadmap will try to establish a sense of ownership and accountability among the community and school management committee as well as focusing on the students learning outcome by preparing a 100 day action plan, indicating different components that are missing in many of the schools of the district such as assembly, library, remedial classes and reading and writing skills.

It may be mentioned that earlier the representatives from NITI Aayog conducted a one-day workshop in all these blocks where more than 107 Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCC) participated. Later, these CRCCs conducted workshops for headmasters and prepared their version of School Transformation Roadmap according to the need of their school. After that the headmasters launched the roadmaps in their respective schools in the presence of the School Management Committee members, community and students by oath taking.
