Nirmala�s death condoled

KOHIMA, June 24 � Nagaland Governor PB Acharya has condoled the death of Sister Nirmala, former head of Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Teresa in Kolkata.

Sister Nirmala, who had succeeded Mother Teresa had encountered people from all walks of life and of diverse religious beliefs, the Governor said in a condolence message.

�Her life was noble, inspiring and was devoted to service and caring for the underprivileged, while her selfless and dedicated service to the needy will be remembered and honoured,� Acharya said adding that Sister Nirmala will be missed by the countless whose lives she touched.

She was bestowed Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award, for her service to the nation, he said.

The Governor conveyed his condolences to all the members of the Missionaries of Charity and prayed that her soul may rest in peace. � PTI
