DERGAON, July 2 - A study centre in honour of internationally reputed poet Nilomoni Phukan started functioning recently at the Naren Sarmah Library of DKD College under the name, �Kabi Nilomoni Phukan Adhyayan Kendra�. According to the librarian of DKD College Dr Jnyandeep Saikia, the centre was started following a will by the noted poet. At present a total of 1,700 books on art, poetry etc. were donated to the library by the poet, while another 300 books will be added soon. Among the books, there are some rare ones which include some books which were composed, edited or compiled by the poet. The college family as well as other citizens of Dergaon have praised the note worthy deed of the poet.
