Night curfew to continue in Karimganj, says DC

NILAMBAZAR, July 31 - The night curfew will continue in Karimganj district till a fresh order from the State government comes into force, said Deputy Commissioner Ambamuthan MP.

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, he informed that the Central government has decided to withdraw the night curfew from August 1 as per the policy guidelines of Unlock 3, but it will remain in force in Karimganj.

He said the swab test of about 1,000 people will be done by the Health department throughout the district and the process has started from Wednesday. On this issue, a decision was taken by the department concerned in a joint meeting held on July 27 with the district administration.

Five mobile medical teams have been deployed in five tea gardens in the district for Rapid Antigen Test and they will be testing at least 250 people each day, the DC said.

Meanwhile, those who are entering Assam from neighbouring Tripura have been asked to visit the Rapid Antigen Test centre at the Churaibari Gate.
