DIMAPUR, March 20 - A dusk-to-dawn night curfew has been imposed in the five km belt of Assam side bordering Nagaland in order to check anti-social elements, Sivasagar Additional District Magistrate has informed.
Section 144 CrPC has been promulgated from 6 pm to 6 am in the areas of Assam side prohibiting movement of any person/group of persons/vehicular traffic in the five km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland.
However, magistrates, security personnel and officers deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of this prohibitory order. The order will come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of 60 days, the ADM said.
