KOHIMA, May 21 � Night curfew has been clamped in Mon district of Nagaland bordering Arunanchal Pradesh, Assam and Myanmar after the abrogation of the 14-year-old ceasefire between Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) and the Centre and subsequent ambush of the security forces at various places.
The prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC enforcing the night curfew from 6 pm to 5 am in the areas of Indo-Myanmar border and Nagaland-Arunachal Pradesh inter-State border was issued on Tuesday.
Movement of any person, group, vehicular traffic within one kilometre belt in Nagaland side bordering Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh is prohibited during the curfew period.
Further, in view of volatile situation in the aftermath of the abrogation of ceasefire by the NSCN (K), officials said that security forces are carrying out extensive operations all over Nagaland. � PTI
