By Staff Correspondent

SHILLONG, Sept 28 - The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has informed that to increase efficiency, it is advancing towards a paperless environment by adopting the online mode.

NHRC has communicated in this regard to all the chief secretaries of the country.

The National Human Rights Commission is shifting towards online working, it said.

NHRC further said that software used in the complaint management information system (CMIS) has been improved and every document is being converted into digital form. The case files are being maintained and examined in digital form and the communications are sent to the public authorities as well as the complainants through email: [email protected].

The public authorities have also been urged to send their reports using HRC net portal www.hrcnet.nic.in for which the State HR Nodal Officer has already been provided with login and password, added the secretary general.

The secretary general informed all the public authorities that the email communications received through [email protected] are treated as official and approved communication under the provisions of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
