GUWAHATI, June 9 � Around 30-35 passengers of a long-distance bus heading towards Guwahati had a miraculous escape after a portion of the National Highway 37 at the Ganesh Mandir Flyover at Eight Mile, Jorabat caved in in the wee hours today.
Police said the front tyre of the bus got stuck in the big hole which resulted from the cave-in. The incident took place around 4:45 am. However, the driver was able to stop the vehicle. Nobody was hurt in the accident.
Later, the traffic police erected a barricade around the hole to ensure safe passage of other vehicles. Makeshift arrangement was made to fill up the portion of the damaged road.
