NH-31 turning accident-prone in Dhubri dist

By Correspondent

GOLAKGANJ, Dec 10 National Highway-31, one of the busiest roads of Assam that connects West Bengal with Assam in Dhubri district has become extremely accident-prone with more than one accident taking place every day on this highway. Most of the time it happens because most drivers lack proper driving and signal sense. Most drivers do not follow headlight dipper signals and importantly, half of the trucks run without some signal lights.

Surprisingly, the traffic police and the authorities concerned are mute spectators in this regard. Had these departments been conscious of these unlawful acts, a large number of accidents could have been prevented. During the period from October to November this year, 55/60 accidents both major and minor took place within Dhubri district alone killing lives of several innocents.
