GUWAHATI, March 31 - NGO Byatikram MASDO�s initiative to make Guwahati a noise-free city successfully completed 90 days today.
Byatikram MASDO president Dr Saumen Bharatiya said that in the past 90 days, the NGO tried to cover all nooks and corners of the city as part of the campaign titled �No Horn Please� which was launched on January 1, a press release said.
�The aim behind our campaign is that one day, the Central and State governments will declare a particular day as �No Horn Day�,� he said.
Om Prakash Mehra, General Manager of the State Bank of India, said drivers must always make way for pedestrians while driving and always remember that everyone has the right to travel on the roads without being disturbed by others.
Meanwhile, Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi said he would appeal to the State government to take up the subject as a scheme.
