GUWAHATI, April 27 - The North Eastern Economical Development Society (NEEDS), in a humanitarian gesture, funded the medical cost of Sumu Kalita, who was afflicted with brain tumour. Fifteen-year-old Sumu, hailing from Majuli, had been waiting long for support as the financial condition of his family was not good.
The story of Sumu reported by the media caught the attention of the NEEDS and it came forward to help the boy go through the complex operation at the GNRC Hospitals here.
According to the hospital staff, very soon Sumu will regain his normal life.
