GUWAHATI, March 3 - Byatikram Masdo has successfully completed its sixty days of 90 days No Horn Please campaign, which was started on January 1 this year.
The campaign was carried out on busy roads and across every nook and corner of the city with active participation of school students, staff of different hospitals, government officials and drivers, the NGO said.
Distinguished personalities from different fields, including artistes, and also the Asam Sahitya Sabha came forward to help the project. Guwahati City Police has also been an active supporter of the campaign.
We are happy that the residents of Guwahati have supported our campaign. Everyone is concerned over noise pollution. We have executed a campaign, but we cannot say that we are completely successful in it. We can say that we will be successful only on the day when our beloved city will be considered as a noise-free city, Dr Saumen Bharatiya, president, Byatikram Masdo said.
The NGO will also be celebrating International Womens Day with a walkathon among women, which will be part of the 90-day No Horn Please campaign. The walkathon will start at 7 am from the Lakhidhar Bora Kshetra covering areas of Handique Girls College, Gauhati High Court, Circuit House, Latasil playground, and culminate at the Dighalipukhuri.
