GUWAHATI, March 26 � NF Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) will play against Dibrugarh for the title in the 7th Veteran Inter District and Inter Institutional T20 Cricket Tournament. In two semifinals played at the Nehru Stadium here today, NFRSA earned a comfortable 24-run victory against Sivasagar while Dibrugarh outwitted Media XI by six wickets.
In the first semifinal, NFRSA scored a commendable total of 155 losing four wickets with man-of-the-match Zaved Zaman being the top scorer (46). Chiranjib Changmai (39) and RB Indrajit (38) were the other useful contributors for the winning team.
In reply, Sivasagar, despite a 31-ball 47 off the blade of Raju Bharali, failed to chase the target and were all out for 131.
Former Ranji player Naba Konwar handed over the man-of-the-match award to Zaved.
The second match was an one-sided affair as Dibrugarh restricted the media team for 104 for six. Kishore Talukdar hit 53 for the mediapersons. Dibrugarh took 14.3 overs to cross the target losing four wickets.
Indrajit Konwar who took four Media XI wickets was adjudged man-of-the-match and the award was handed over to him by Pabitra Dutta, former Ranji Trophy players. The final is slated for March 28.
