NFRSA boys to play GCCC (A) in final today

GUWAHATI, April 24 - In the high scoring second semifinal of the 4th Dr Padma Saikia and Sandhan Saikia All Guwahati Inter Coaching Centre Limited Overs Prize-money (U-14) Cricket Tournament at the Janata Bhawan playground today, NF Railway Sports Association posted 59-run victory against Mangaldai Cricket Academy.

Opting to use the track first the NFRSA boys set a stiff winning target of 287 for the opponent as they piled up 286 losing six wickets in the allotted 35 overs. Kangkan Kashyap top scored with 79 off 53 deliveries. After making a hot chase the Mangaldai boys finally fell 59 runs short as they were all out for 227 in 33.3 overs. Nishanko Moni Nath (85) and Manoj Kr Das (50) tried their hearts out with the bats but their efforts went in vain as Sangeet Das (4/23) and Rajver Khurmi (4/42) bowled brilliantly to take their team to the final.

Tomorrow the NFRSA team will square off against Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre (A) in the summit clash.

Brief scores: NFRSA 286/6 (Kangkan Kashyap 79, Rahveer Singh 39, Tarun Rao 29, Anubhav Acharya 2/43). Mangaldai CA 227 in 33.3 (Nishanko Moni Nath 85, Manoj Kr Das 50, Prabal Deep Kalita 30, Sangeet Das 4/23, Rajver Khurmi 4/42, Debangshu Ghosh 2/37).
