NFR proposes safety works worth Rs 325 cr

GUWAHATI, Dec 23 - As part of its focus on increasing safety measures, Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has proposed as many as 28 projects to the tune of Rs 325 crore for inclusion in supplementary works programme for 2018-19.

An official statement said that five proposals for improvement and provision of running rooms at 30 stations have been proposed at a cost of Rs 71 crore, while ten proposals for improvement and provision of training centres at 13 stations have been proposed at a cost of Rs 94 crore.

In addition, three proposals for extension of platforms at 18 stations at a cost of Rs 45 crore, seven proposals for provision of foot overbridges at 30 stations for Rs 105 crore, three proposals for replacement of LED signals, batteries and OFC equipment at Rs 10 crore have also been put forward.
