NFR officials, trader get 2 years� RI

GUWAHATI, Sept 30 � The Special Court, CBI today convicted two NF Railway officials, besides a city-based businessman and awarded them two years� rigorous imprisonment for allegedly making fake supply of hospital beds to NF Railway. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 to each of the accused.

Those convicted include AN Bora, senior stores officer, NFR, R Sutradhar, office superintendant, NFR and KD Agarwal, the proprietor of M/s Gautam Stores, Maligaon.

Sources informed that the trio siphoned off the contract money placing a false case of making a supply of 47 hospital beds to the NFR hospital in Tinsukia district.

The CBI registered the case in the year 2000 and had filed the chargesheet in the year 2003.
