GUWAHATI, Aug 25 � In a match of academic interest only in the RG Baruah Super League Football Tournament here at the Nehru Stadium today, NF Railway Sports Association rallied to hold Gauhati Town Club 1-1.

In a lackluster encounter on a slushy ground, Shyam Murah put Town ahead in the 16th minute. Shyam got the ball when it was rebounded off Railway custodian Bijoy Sonowal�s gloves and the Town striker made no mistake in pushing home.

In the second session, the railwaymen made a fightback with some renewed vigour. But till the 87th minute success deluded him despite their all out attack. Finally Jilendra Brahma nodded the equaliser off a pass from Kapil Daimary.

Town attacker Festus Onoriode Johnayah was given the marching order for making a dangerous foul on Railway defender Punakon Chawrok in the 88th minute.

In A division match, Jewel Star trounced Abutani 3-1. Dipak Bora struck twice while Y Bobo Singh added one for Jewel while Chakrapani Baruah reduced the margin.

Today�s matches: (Super Div) Sunrise vs Dynamo. (A Div) Rajbari vs Chandmari.
