NFR, FCI match drawn

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 4 Both NF Railway Sports Association and Food Corporation of India (FCI) Sports Club played an ordinary game and no team could beat the deadlock in their RG Baruah Super Division Football League today at the Nehru Stadium here.

It was basically a mid-field game and both the teams played without any set plan. A series of ill directed passes and shots at goal turned the match to a boring one. However, few players of both the teams like Prasanta Bharali, Y Raju Singh, Jilendra Brahma, Janak Basumatary of NF Railway and Teker Hmar, Laldingheta, David March Gayari of FCI tried to motivate their teammates with some positive moves.

Railway goalkeeper Bijoy Sonowal also performed well under the bar and rescued his team on a couple of occasions.

Veteran Prasanta on a couple of occasions almost caught FCI goalkeeper Gobinda Boro on the wrong foot with quickly taken shots. But the ball missed the target by a whisker. Once he hit the cross piece and his other shot was saved by Gobinda at the cost of a corner.

FCIs skipper Thomson Langthasa, who seemed to not fully fit, could not do nothing for his team throughout the course.
