NFR conducts training prog on safety measures

GUWAHATI, July 28 - As a part of safety measures by the Safety Department of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), a training programme was held recently at Rangia for Accident Relief Train Supervisors, Chief Loco Inspectors and Safety of the zone.

The programme covered the issue of �Practical Track Measurements Training� for proper joint track measurements in time of necessity in any Railway inquiry.

Accident Relief Train Supervisors, Chief Loco Inspectors and Safety Counselors from all the five Divisions as well as the NFR headquarters participated in the event, during which all safety measurement issues and parameters were discussed.

Subjects like demonstration during measurement of track and duty list of Joint Measurement Supervisors were discussed, along with guidelines of the Accident Manual.

NFR officials said that the zone has undertaken a number of initiatives during recent times to increase safety preparedness among its staff. Regular training programmes on safety-related issues have been held at various places across NFR from time to time. They added that in addition to training staff about safety issues, NFR has also taken steps to strengthen safety features in trains and other railway properties.

More and more trains are being converted to the new generation LHB coaches from the old conventional ones, while all un-manned level crossings have been eliminated.
