NFR achieves cent per cent punctuality

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - The train punctuality parameter of Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway reached 100 per cent earlier this week.

The Ministry of Railways has reviewed punctuality of trains running over all the zones of Indian Railways, where the NFR has achieved 100 per cent punctuality on September 8 the highest amongst all the 17 Railway zones, said Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR.

The NFR fared best in train punctuality for the period from September 1 to September 8 in Indian Railways by running 95.9 per cent trains on time. It has achieved the improvement of punctuality as a result of sustained effort of all of its divisions. NFR officials are trying to monitor the punctuality aspect of all the trains to provide passengers the best possible train services, he said.

Chanda stated that the NFR is closely monitoring running of all the trains in the Division as well as at the headquarters level.

Moreover, all the Divisions under the NFR keep close vigil on trains coming from other zones that get delayed, and all efforts are being made to ensure that the trains arriving late do not lose punctuality any further in the NFR, he added.
