GUWAHATI, Aug 18 � Riding on a solitary goal scored by Sibra Narzary in the 84th minute, NF Railway Sports Club earned full points against Green Valley Sports Club in today�s match of the Abhishek Motors GSA Super Division Football League for the RG Baruah Trophy.
In a close match at the Nehru Stadium here, Sibra found the net with a suddenly taken left footer. Railway midfielder Bapa Biswas sent the ball to Chayaram Boro who set it for Sibra. He took no time in taking the shot. Green Valley goal keeper Sukanta Roy was caught on wrong foot and the ball sailed into the goal surprising the custodian.
The match was started with a positive note as both the teams adopted attacking tactics at the initial stage. It was a fast-paced encounter in the first 25 minutes where several goal bound moves were initiated from either sides. The session may be termed as a story of missed chances. Green Valley�s Nigerian striker Micheal Lucky Kelechuke missed the easiest scoring opportunity of the day when he failed to divert the ball into the Railway goal in the 20th minute. After few minutes Jenga Rongmei squandered another easy opportunity.
For NF Railway Duleswar Rabha failed to shoot home in the 23rd minute off a pass from Sibra. It was, however, Green Valley defender Satwinder Singh who made a goal line save.
In the second session substitute Thomson Langthasa failed to hit the target from a close range.
Ganga SC win: Ganga Sports Club recorded their fourth consecutive wins in the A Division League and stood top in the table with 12 points. Displaying another quality game Ganga boys defeated Abutani Sports Club 4-2 today.
Xumnam Gopi Singh recorded a hattrick scoring in the 31st, 56th and 59th (penalty) minutes while Vanlalnghaka added one in the 63rd minute. For Abutani Henry Kelechi Oja netted both the goals in the 20th and 72nd minutes.
