GUWAHATI, Sept 11 - As part of the Prime Minister�s call during his Independence Day speech to abandon single-use plastic, the Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction Organization) today launched a drive with the aim to abandon single-use plastic on its premises.
�All the staff and officers offered shramdaan on plastic waste thrown around the office complex. The drive will be continued till October 2,� said SK Ojah, Senior Public Relations Officer (SPRO) of NFR (Construction).
A fortnight-long �Swachhta hi Sewa� campaign has also been launched. The theme of this year�s Swachhta hi Sewa is �Plastic waste management and effective ban of single-use plastic.�
Mohan Lal, Chief Administrative Officer of NFR (Construction), also administered a pledge to all officers and staff of the headquarters on the occasion.
