GUWAHATI, Oct 2 - NF Railways (A) team annexed the Basketball Challengers League (BCL) trophy as the first ever champions of the Assam�s first professional basketball championship. The A team of Railways defeated NF Railways (B) team 88-86 in a thrilling final at the basketball court in RG Baruah Sports Complex.
Amit Khan of Railways (B) was adjudged the best player of the final while Birender Singh was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the championship organised by Sportscraft Management.
Railways A team received a cash award of Rs 1 lakh while the runners-up got Rs 50,000.
