NF Railway GM meets MPs

GUWAHATI, Jan 18 - General Manager of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) HK Jaggi yesterday held an informal discussion with Members of Parliament representing areas falling under the zone, at the NFR headquarters at Maligaon.

The meeting was held following a directive from Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to the railway zones to elicit their suggestions and opinions on the preparation of the ensuing Railway Budget 2016-17, which is to be tabled in the Parliament on February 28.

Altogether 15 MPs from Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya and West Bengal participated in the meeting. Jaggi made a presentation on the current position of the NFR in terms of ongoing projects, operations, financial performance and future plans.

The MPs put forward their suggestions and demands for inclusion in the Railway Budget, which will be forwarded to the Railway Ministry.

Senior officers of NFR and NFR Construction Organization were also present at the meeting.
