IMPHAL, April 1 - Newspaper hawkers in Manipur today resumed their activities following public pressure. Subscribers of all major localities in the State, including those in the greater Imphal area, will get their copies at their doorsteps again, which has come as a great relief to those seeking accurate and authentic information through the media.
In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Manipur Hawkers� Association (MHA) and All Manipur Newspaper Sales and Distributors Association had suspended their activities on March 25, citing some difficulties.
Expressing regret over disruption of normal distribution of newspapers to readers, MHA general secretary Laikhuram Surjit Singh, in a statement, appealed to the hawkers to take self-precautionary measures like social distancing while performing their jobs.
