GUWAHATI, Nov 22 - A news portal named Sankarjyoti News was launched on Friday at a function held at the office of the portal at Basisthapur by the president of State BJP Ranjeet Dass.
Chairman-cum-managing director of Sankarjyoti Publications, Madhuram Deka, welcomed the guests and explained the purpose of the function. He hoped that the people of Assam would extend the same support to the news portal as they did to the Sankarjyoti newspaper earlier.
Dass, while launching the portal, expressed hope that it would carry right messages to the people of the State.
The portal�s chief editor DN Chakravartty appealed to the people to point out the errors and deficiencies in the functioning of the news portal.
Dilip Saikia, Member of Parliament, and Jogesh Majumdar, executive editor of the portal, also spoke on the occasion.
