GUWAHATI, Feb 8 - Following an order from the district magistrate, body of a newborn baby was exhumed from the Navagraha Crematorium ground, four days after it was buried.
The body was exhumed for conducting the autopsy after family members of the baby alleged that the newborn had died due to utter medical negligence on the part of the doctors of a private hospital in Rangia.
Family members alleged that the doctors who initially treated the newborn followed a completely wrong line of treatment that eventually led to her death.
Although the baby was later shifted to a Guwahati-based hospital, it turned out to be too late. The order came in the wake of parents demanding an enquiry into the entire episode. The body was exhumed in the presence of district magistrate.
