IMPHAL, April 3 � A new trekking route to famed Dzukou valley located between Manipur and Nagaland border was opened at a simple function in Senapati district on Monday.
Dzukou valley is situated at an altitude of 2,450 metres (8000 ft) above sea level behind the Japfu peak. �This route will take only five hours trek from the base camp of the MMTA at Mt Isii to Dzukou valley,�MMTA sources said.
Earlier, trekkers used to land at Viswema village in Nagaland to visit Dzukou. It took two days to visit the valley. The best season to visit Dzukou is late June till July and September (except monsoon).
