SILCHAR, July 15 - A new train from Silchar to Kumarghat in Tripura was flagged off on Thrusday from the Silchar railway station. The train left for its destination at 8 am. It will run between the two destinations everyday at 8 am from Silchar and at 4 pm from Kumarghat to reach Silchar at 9 pm. There was great enthusiasm and excitement among the passengers as the train chugged off from the Silchar station.
Meanwhile, delayed start of the Silchar-Karimganj passenger train on Thrusday morning irked the passengers. Later, they were seen staging a protest in the station campus.
Eventually the train left Silchar station for Karimganj after a delay of two hours. Station superintendent Biplab Das said that the delay was due to a technical snag while the train was in the shunting process from pitline to mainline.
