GUWAHATI, March 1 � New Star Club has been promoted to the A Division of the GSA Cricket League after being emerged champions in the B Division.
In the final played at the Latasil playground here today, the New Star Club registered a 35-run victory against Satgaon Club and lifted the Rashmi Bala Tamuly Trophy.
New Star piled a massive 212 in 29.5 overs in the 30-over match and bundled out the opponent for 177 in 26.2 overs.
Ketan Kundalia of the winning team received the man-of-the-match award for his 40-ball 59. Sanjib Thakur of Satgaon was adjudged as man-of-the-tournament while Dhrubajyoti Das (Brahmaputra Boys) and Amanullah Khan (New Star) got the best batsman and best bowler awards respectively.
Bubul Das and Panil Rabha officiated the final match as umpires while Manab Das was the official scorer.
