New Sivasagar DC seeks cooperation from people

SIVASAGAR, March 11 - Assuming charge as new Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, Pallav Gopal Jha, met mediapersons at Siukapha Bhawan in DC Office Sivasagar recently and exchanged views with them regarding the development of the district. Jha said he would like to continue the good works initiated by the former DC Narayan Konwar and sought cooperation from the media fraternity and people.

On behalf of the media fraternity, Atanu Bora of Newslive, MI Bora of Dainik Asom, Inamul Hazarika, secretary, Sivasagar Press Club and Firoj Khan of Dainandin Barta urged the Deputy Commissioner to expedite the ongoing project works for overall development of the district and the 551 historic sites. They also requested the DC to complete the 47 drinking water projects in the greater interest of the district.

The Deputy Commissioner also met the district officers of different departments, heads of police and security agencies deployed in the district and discussed about the progress of the ongoing projects. It was attended by SP Sivasagar Subudh Sonowal, Revenue Circle officers, managers of gas company, DTO, DFO and the higher officials of the ONGC, Nazira.

Earlier, the DC visited the sites for the ONGC-sponsored super specialty hospital in Rajabari and the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petrochemicals under construction in Palasani. The Deputy Commissioner yesterday visited Nazira and met the Sub-divisional officer and other higher officers there. He was present at a function for water filter distribution among 1435 beneficiaries of the tea community. He also visited the sensitive regions of Assam-Nagaland border and met the leaders of different organizations and exchanged views regarding various endemic problems.
