IMPHAL, March 12 - Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh flagged off the construction of a new 103 km highway connecting Imphal with Tamenglong district headquarters in the State recently.
The construction works of the new highway, which will shorten the distance by 43 km compared to the existing Imphal-Khongshang-Tamenglong Road, will be taken up by Hindustan Construction Company Ltd under funding by Asian Development bank.
The highway project, estimated to cost Rs 1,114 crores, is targeted to be completed within three and half years.
