GUWAHATI, June 29 - Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora today appointed former minister Gautam Bora as chairman of the Relief & Rehabilitation Department of the State Congress with immediate effect.
Gautam Bora replaces Sailen Bora, who has already been entrusted the responsibility as general secretary (Administration) of APCC.
The new chairman has been directed to constitute the State committee of Relief & Rehabilitation Department within one week in view of the present flood situation in the State.
Meanwhile, the APCC president has also appointed Prof (retd) Naren Changmai, former president of Assam College Teachers� Association, as the new chairman of the Teachers� Cell of State Congress party with immediate effect.
Changmai has been directed to take over charge immediately and constitute the State committee of Teachers� Cell of APCC.
