New Mayamara satra to come up in Bosapathar

DIBRUGARH, Nov 12 - The Mayamara Vaishnava community today laid foundation stone for a new Satra in Bosapathar near Lahoal. The new satra will be known as Shree Shree Aniruddhadeva Mayamara Satra.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was organised with traditional gayon bayon, kirtan and chants by invited Satradhikars and hundreds of bhakts (devotees), all clad in white. Names of nine Gaon Burahs of upper Assam were also invoked during the foundation stone laying ceremony.

Satradhikar Paramananda Dev Goswami of Jorhat Puroni Mati Satra, Satradhikar Nrigunabhuj of Kakopathar Shree Shree Mayamara Ubon Satra, Acharya Dokhen Mahanta of Shree Shree Hatigarh Satra and �deka� Satradhikar Biren Mahanta of Kakoptathar Ubon Satra jointly laid the foundation stone for the new monastery venue.

The new Satra will be built on a nine bigha plot. A namghar, community hall, and other logistics required for a satra will be put in place, according to the organisers.

Local businessman Pulin Chandra Gogoi has donated Rs 25 lakh as donation for the satra. Similarly social worker Hemanta Gohain has donated Rs 10 lakh. Prabin Baruah, Silanta Lahon and several others also announced donations.
