JORHAT, Oct 3 - Bikram Kairi (IAS) today assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Majuli island district.
A Majuli district administration source stated that Kairi, an IAS officer of 2014 batch and from Cachar district, was handed over charge by the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Debaprasad Misra at the DC�s office . Kairi was previously posted as an Additional Deputy Commissioner in Tinsukia district. Misra has been transferred as the Director of the Food and Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Department. Kairi after taking over charge chaired a meeting with senior district administration and police officials which included Superintendent of Police Hitesh Chandra Ray, the source said. Kairi took stock of the ongoing projects, schemes in the island and about various issues of the people. He also reviewed the law and order scene of the district, the source added.
