New India Club body formed

GUWAHATI, June 28 - Former State Ranji and TT player and a noted tennis player Shankar Datta Lahkar became the new president of the India Club while Anupam Choudhury has been retained as the secretary general of the India Club.

The new executive council of the premier sports organisation of the State was set up during the General Meeting held in the India Club premises here on Sunday, stated a release.

The new body: President � Shankar Datta Lahkar, vice presidents � Bijan Kumar Choudhuri, Progoti Bora, secretary general � Anupam Chowdhury, treasurer � Suresh Kumar Beria, joint secretaries (Tennis) � Kalyan Sahu, (Sports) � Hemanta Kumar Sarma, (Club Services) � Dipankar Barooah. (Executive members � Binod Das, Sattyakee D�com Bhuyan, Nazim Nesar Ahmed, Ankush Dutta, Krishnananda Das.
