By Correspondent

DULIAJAN, May 15 The company has to progress is my one-point agenda and efforts would be made to further accelerate the growth of the company and to convert Oil India Limited (OIL) to a Maharatna company within the next three years, mentioned Sunil Kumar Srivastava, who assumed the office of Chairman and Managing Director of the nations second largest oil and gas company on May 1 last.

During an interaction with the mediapersons on the sidelines of his first official visit to the PSUs registered and field headquarters here at Duliajan yesterday, Srivastava remarked that Oil India Limited is a company which is highly respected by the Central Government because of its unprecedented growth path during the recent years and said that besides crude oil production, the companys priority would be accorded to the power and fertilizer sectors by producing more natural gas as per the directive of the Central Government.

Srivastava also reiterated OILs commitment of supplying 6 mmscum/day gas to the upcoming gas cracker project, Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh from January 1, 2014, in addition to its existing commitment for gas supply of 7 mmscum/day for power generation, fertilizer sector, tea gardens and domestic consumers.
