New building of Kokrajhar civil hospital

KOKRAJHAR, March 16 � In a bid to extend enhanced medical services in BTC headquarters, Hagrama Mohilary, chief of BTC inaugurated the Sick New Born Care Unit (SNCU) and Eye Care Unit (ECU) as two new departments in the RNB Civil Hospital in the new building in addition to the Helena Guide Basumatary GNM School.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohilary emphasised on providing specialised medical services to the patients as a part of responsibility and at the same time assured that the shortage of existing staff strength to be dealt in the appropriate level to increase the medical and paramedical staff in this hospital and if necessary contractual appointments will be made shortly.

Reo Reoa Narzihary, EM, Dept of Health, BTC and other EMs and GMs along with MCLAs of BTC apart from high-level dignitaries and doctors of Kokrajhar attended the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Mohilary also inaugurated the Nursing College at Habrubari in Kokrajhar and laid the foundation of pillars along the boundary lines of BTAD along Bhotgaon bordering Dhubri district of Assam.

It may be mentioned here that this 200-bed hospital has 24 doctors against 26 sanctioned posts along with 44 nurses and 7 staff nurses, 15 ward boys, 7 sweepers, 16 ward girls, 3 dressers and 3 OT boys at present. This hospital has also specialised facilities like X-ray, ultra sonography, CT scan, ECG, auto analysing facilities of medical tests, OT facility in eye, ENT, peadiatric, dental, obstretricsand gynaecology departments. Besides, this hospital has a blood bank of 200 pouches storage capacity of blood units at a time.
