New Arunachal CM assumes office

ITANAGAR, Feb 20 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul assumed charge at Niti Vihar here last night minutes after his swearing-in as the 8th CM of this Frontier State and then held an emergency meeting with top bureaucrats of the State.

Spelling out his priorities, Pul said, �Maintenance of law and order, curbing corruption, effective fiscal management and concrete development in all fronts by ensuring transparency and accountability will be my government�s top agenda.�

Putting forward his priorities and vision before the top-ranking State Government officers, the CM issued strict directives to ensure that there is no breach of law and order in the State, more particularly in capital area. He made it amply clear that lawlessness in the State would not be tolerated.

The CM will hold another important meeting with all the Commissioners and Secretaries including DGP tomorrow, according to an official communiqu� here.
