New announcements prove NDA Govts commitment: State BJP

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 2 - Welcoming the various announcements made by the newly sworn-in NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State BJP today asserted that such steps prove the commitment of the ruling party towards addressing the basic issues facing the country as well as in ensuring that social welfare benefits reach all segments of society.

In a statement, the unit of the ruling party said that the decisions taken by the recently re-elected Modi government, in its very first Cabinet meeting, have been welcomed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma and all cadres of the State BJP.

People of India saw the various developmental initiatives taken by the first government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We also witnessed unprecedented success of the BJP in the recent Lok Sabha elections, it said.

It added that the biggest achievement of the first Modi regime was in ensuring that welfare schemes reach the targeted beneficiaries and do not get misappropriated.

The ruling party pointed out to the changes brought to the Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme under the National Defence Fund, which has resulted in the enhancement of rates of scholarships as well as its extension to the wards of State police officials who get martyred during terror attacks.

The State BJP said the pension coverage to farmers and extension of the PM-KISAN Yojana to all the land-holding eligible farmers across the country, subject to the prevalent exclusion criteria, as well as the special scheme for control of foot-and-mouth disease and brucellosis to support farmers associated with the animal husbandry sectors and the pension scheme for traders, all announced by the new government, prove the welfare agenda of the ruling dispensation.

Crores of families across India will directly benefit from these schemes, it said and added that this is a perfect example of the government agenda of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
