UDALGURI, Dec 11 - In a bid to take forward the issues perennially plaguing the Koch community people and ensure their political rights, the All Assam Koch Students� Union constituted its Udalguri district committee here at Tangla on Sunday.
The general meet on the occasion was presided over by Rameswar Deka, who reiterated the plethora of demands for the Koch people. A 31-member Udalguri district committee of the students� body was formed with Narayan Bora as president and Binoy Kumar Bora as secretary respectively.
It may be mentioned that formation of the AAKSU body would be a new challenge to the existing two factions of AKRSU and people here are of the opinion that the new students� body would try to influence the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Lower Assam.
