NEUFC to start home campaign against Goa

GUWAHATI, Oct 14 - Botom placed NorthEast United FC will try to open their accounts in the ISL-II tomorrow against last year�s finalist FC Goa at its home ground Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium Sarusajai here.

The home team is yet to gain any point from two outings as they lost both matches against Kerala Blasters and FC Pune respectively. On the otherhand Goa beat Delhi Dynamos 2-0 while drew 1-1 against Atletico De Kolkata and lost against Chennaiyan FC 0-4.

NorthEast United played two matches away and lost both of them, although they were unlucky to lose their last game against FC Pune City through an own goal. NorthEast have the more passionate supporters of the game in India and they could spur their side against FC Goa, who have problems of their own.

The hosts will continue to be without their injured captain Miguel Garcia, while Holicharan Narzary and Ivorian Boubacar Sanogo are yet to regain fitness.

FC Goa chief coach Zico has had plenty to worry as well. The Goan side were drubbed 0-4 by Chennaiyin FC in their home ground in the last match Their captain and marquee player Lucio is now unavailable for the clash against NorthEast United with an injury.

Another Brazilian defender, Luciano Sabrosa, is expected to fill in for the Brazilian World Cup winner�s big boots. In the pre match press conference Zico expressed confidence over tomorrow�s match and said, the result of the last match against Chennaiyin would not put any impact against the home team. He however worried about injuries of some of the key players.

A capacity crowd is expected at the Sarusajai stadium tomorrow.
